Abhay Deol and Zeenat Aman’s Bun Tikki to premiere at Palm Springs Festival

Actors Abhay Deol, Zeenat Aman and Shabana Azmi’s Bun Tikki will have its world premiere at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival 2025 (January 5). The film will be helmed by Faraz Arif Ansari and will revolve around a child named Shanu and his single father Sidhant.
The film is being bankrolled by ace designer Manish Malhotra’s Stage 5 Production and Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Studios. Apart from the two companies, Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra and Marijke deSouza have also co-produced the film.
Earlier, Deol had opened up about Bun Tikki while speaking to Dirty Magazine, “Bun Tikki’ is one of my favourite scripts ever, among the top three scripts I’ve ever read in my career; it could be number one, even. (I arrogantly say I’m one of the best in the world at judging a script — okay I’m among the top five for sure.) It is a nice blend of mainstream with alternative, which is how I would describe most of the films I’ve worked on. ‘DevD’, ‘Oye Lucky’, ‘Socha Na Tha’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ — all of these I used to call middle-of-the-road films, now I say mainstream meets alternative. But this one packs a bigger punch.”
Apart from Deol, Zeenat Aman and Shabana Azmi, Bun Tikki also stars Rohan Singh and Nushrat Bharucha.
